about

For those looking to embark upon a sonic voyage that travels far beyond the prescribed genres and sub-genres of electronic music, this set is for you.

Spiral Into The Storm’s overarching elements — audacious dub treatments, corroded synths, propulsive drums, and digitally reconfigured guitars — are organically intertwined throughout A Futile Veneer. However, Spiral deftly serves up this distinctive mix from strikingly different angles on every cut.

There is a welcome surprise factor within the arrangements of the material as well, which constantly manages to take the listener (and dancefloor) to unforeseen corridors, peaks and vistas, without resorting to gimmickry.

"...like Out Hud remixed, or filtered through Autechre... (or comparable to) the dance/funk of !!!, but laptop-based... it's something interesting that I haven't really heard before."
— Indie Street Radio

"...a CD that shimmers and swirls like a mash-up of DJ? Acucrack and Autechre... enough bleeps and beats to please even the most discerning fan of beat-driven electronic music... Spiral Into The Storm is very much worth picking up."
— Fazer

about

Spiral Into The Storm Toronto, Ontario

Following the split of that group, and stints as a producer/engineer/musician-for-hire, Skol unveiled his most adventurous project to date: Spiral Into The Storm. ... more
